Loreto

LORETO

It is the largest region of Peru covering more than a third of the territory. Its capital, Iquitos, is the main river port of the country but is also the largest city in the world, accessible only by air or river. Loreto is covered by Amazonian forest and rainfall is intense. Nevertheless, the region is not lacking in charm and will delight adventurers. You can make day trips by canoe, discover the intense flora and the ubiquitous fauna. In addition, because of its geographical isolation, the populations have been able to preserve their ancestral traditions and you will be able to learn more about shamanic practices and the particular living conditions of the villagers. In some areas of the region, there are also indigenous civilizations and a Natural Park helps to conserve these places with biodiversity and fragile populations.
