Of colonial architecture, its city center listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site includes several unmissable monuments: the monastery of Santa Catalina, a real city within the city (it is the largest convent in the world) as well as the very beautiful Plaza de Armas and its majestic cathedral. The white facades, built in sillar (cut volcanic stone), give the town its charm and harmony.
Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, including that of the Misti volcano which culminates at 5822m, Arequipa offers the possibility of many mountain sports activities: hiking or biking, climbing volcanoes… Arequipa is also the starting point to get to the canyon of Colca where you can watch the condor fly, or the Cotahuasi Canyon, the deepest in the world and one of the most impressive landscapes in Peru.
Cradle of Casas del Perú, it is in the city of Arequipa itself that the pilot guesthouse, Casa de Dina, is located. The surrounding countryside is also full of riches and you can choose to stop off the beaten track in a rural bed and breakfast.
